Steve's flair and immense talent for design has given us our "dream home", he has taken advantage of every view, whether sea or rural, and has created the "wow" factor.

 We cannot recommend Steve more highly. From the moment we met Steve he made a point of listening to what we wanted to achieve with our new home. He designed a home for us that works superbly for its beach location, so much that we have moved in permanently.

Steve's abilities did not stop at design, he recommended a builder Mark Kokich, who was also first class and brilliant to work with, he handled the Council and was always on hand if we needed to talk to him. Steve is one of those designers who truly wants to help his Clients as opposed to telling them what he wants to design.

If you need a house or renovation done use him and Mark, for that matter you will not be disappointed.

 Given that Steve had done a wonderful job of designing my Mother's home, we had no hesitation in engaging him to design ours.

He also designed a lovely home for my brother, Roly.

 Steve was excellent in interpreting and visualising our ideas, together with his own imagination, expertise and architectural skills to actually make them work, resulting in an outstanding house which has featured in international media - Toronto Globe & the London Observer.

 Steve Povey's design for our split-level 300m² home on a north-facing slope on Whatitiri, at Maungatapere, used the land, location, shelter and views wonderfully well.

All rooms get some sun during the day, providing a good background temperature in cooler months. Conversely, cool air flow from the native bush behind keeps the temperature in the house moderate during hot weather.

The living/dining/kitchen zone is attractive and very functional, while bedrooms/bathrooms are quiet and very practical.

Other features of the design include the skylights and the vaulted ceilings, while a curved deck facing into the orchard provides an excellent indoor/outfoor flow from three sets of double doors.

It is a very substantial and well-built house with design elements which have been appreciated more and more.

 This is the second home Steve has designed for us, we have been delighted with them both. Lovely, light living areas.
